How we supported ZEN’s international expansion

Our collaboration with ZEN started on LinkedIn. Peter, a ZEN representative, reached out to us after following our posts for a while.

Encouraged by the solid results we wrote about on LinkedIn, he asked us to put together a proposal. The rest is history.

ZEN had an ambitious goal: to expand internationally and increase organic traffic in multiple markets. With major players like Stripe and Revolut B2B, facing the competition was going to be no easy feat. Their main challenges were improving the site’s search engine visibility and increasing leads.

Luckily, we didn’t have to start from scratch. ZEN already had a solid foundation in content marketing even before we started working together. This included:

  • A blog in three languages
  • An ‘ask’ subdomain that acted as a help centre for users.

Still, we found many areas that needed to be optimised to maximise SEO efforts.

After a comprehensive SEO analysis, we developed an action plan to optimise the site and increase visibility. This involved:

  1. Internal linking: We improved internal link structure to optimise the flow of link juice and make it easier for users to navigate.
  2. Hreflangs: We implemented correct hreflang tags to optimise the website’s multilingual support.
  3. Fixing errors in Google Search Console (GSC): We fixed key errors to improve the site’s indexation in Google.
  4. Content analysis: We performed a detailed content analysis to identify keywords and content gaps.
  5. Creating new content: We created 25 articles for the blog, which led to a 797% increase in blog visitors.

Implementing lead reporting: We integrated tools to report leads from different subsites, allowing us to more accurately monitor campaign performance and optimise conversions.
