Why it matters
Why communities matter for AI search
When people want an honest opinion, they ask other people. Reddit threads, Quora answers and niche forums are full of “which provider would you recommend?” questions.
AI engines read those threads too. One industry roundup (5W, May 2026) put Reddit at about 12% of ChatGPT citations in the US, just behind Wikipedia.
If your category’s threads mention your competitors and not you, AI is likely to repeat that.

What we won’t do
These aren’t only ethics. Communities spot fake accounts quickly, moderators ban them, and a public backlash is the kind of mention you don’t want AI to repeat.

Who it’s for
- Brands in categories where buyers ask peers before they buy: finance, precious metals, SaaS, eCommerce, health.
- Companies with people who genuinely know the subject and can answer questions well.
- Teams that want to show up in community threads without risking their reputation.
Who it’s not for
- Anyone who wants volume: dozens of posts a week, reviews, upvotes. We don’t do that.
- Brands that can’t disclose who they are, for legal or compliance reasons.

FAQ
Community Mentions FAQ
What is Community Mentions?
Community Mentions is a service that builds an honest, disclosed presence for your brand in online communities such as Reddit, Quora and niche forums. The goal is to be part of the conversations where buyers ask for recommendations, and where AI engines often find their answers.
Is Reddit marketing allowed?
Brand participation is allowed on Reddit when it follows Reddit’s rules and each community’s own rules, which differ by subreddit. Disclosed participation is fine in many communities; hidden promotion and fake accounts are not. We check each community’s rules before we post anything.
Will you post as fake customers?
No. Never. Every contribution comes from your brand’s official account, under your company’s name. No fake customers, no staged threads, no bought accounts or votes.
Why does Reddit matter for AI?
AI engines use community discussions as sources, especially for “which is best” questions. If trusted threads recommend your competitors, AI answers often do too. Showing up with useful answers gives AI something accurate to find about you.
Do you add links to our site?
Rarely. Most useful answers don’t need a link, and link-heavy posts get removed. The value is in the mention and the answer itself.
How do you measure results?
We track community-driven prompts in AI Citation Tracking, log every contribution and the community’s response, and report whether AI answers in your category start naming you. We don’t count upvotes as success.
How long does it take?
Months. Trust in a community is built by showing up consistently and being useful. Threads also need time to be indexed and picked up as sources.
